Catching Up

I know it has been a little while since you have seen a blog. I know you all have missed them. I know you have all been waiting with bated breathe.

Is everything ok? Yes, everything is fine. And I would love to catch you up on everything that has been going on. I just have having trouble finding where to begin.

I have written about my love for films in previous blog posts. If you know me, you know I will talk ad nauseam about films. Every aspect of them. I enjoy television, but not nearly as much as a movie; however, there is a television series, currently on now, unlike anything I have ever seen before. A crime procedural that, no spoilers, has an ending no writer could ever make up.

This story includes a double homicide, a celebrity suspect, Ross Geller exclaiming "Juice" at seemingly random times and intervals, acting mastery by the incredibly talented Courtney B. Vance, and John Travolta in a role he was born to play. Honestly, I would be fine if he stayed in character forever.

It is comical to see this case dominate the airways again. And make no mistake, this cast is dominating television right now. More comical than that was the result of the trial. It can be said the relationship between the African American community and Los Angeles Police department was non existent in Los Angeles during the late 90's. And then came the most high profile murder case in the last 100 years. The only person to go to jail from that case, the lead detective. His crime, perjury.

I called this case's resurgence in our pop culture comical because we, currently, live in a time where those tensions have not dissipated at all. They have grown to and are getting frighteningly close to presidential proportions. A time where, it seems as if, police officers are no longer accountable for their actions. But on Tuesday night's, we are all put into a time machine, and taken to a different time and place in the world.

I can not wait to see how this all plays out...NO SPOILERS!
